From trainee to Operations Director
Lovisa Eriksson started her time at Stena as a trainee. Today she is Head of regional operations, overseeing Stena Recycling's seven production facilities in Stockholm. And soon she will dive into her new role as Operations Director for Stena Recycling in Sweden. Curiosity and the opportunity to influence have been the biggest driving forces.
“We have a culture at Stena where everyone is encouraged to take responsibility. I think that attracts the kind of people who enjoy making a difference and driving development forward,” says Lovisa Eriksson.
At Stena Recycling's production facilities, waste is received, sorted and processed. It is then sent on, among other things, to be converted into raw materials used in the manufacture of new products. Expertise in handling ferrous, non-ferrous and hazardous waste is needed.
“In addition to our production units, I am responsible for sales and for our customer relations. I ensure that we have an offer and that we develop, that we come up with improvements. I am also responsible for ensuring that we always comply with laws and regulations.”

trust in individuals' driving forces
Central to all companies in the Stena Metall Group is the belief in the individual's driving forces and the desire to use them to create value for the business.
“I think we are good at Stena at showing trust in all individuals. People who succeed in our organization, regardless of role, are the people who want to be part of making us a little better the next day. They come up with an idea on how to make a job better. It could be anything from how we sort materials to how we can develop our customer relations.”
Lovisa Eriksson started her career as a participant in Stena Recycling's one-year trainee program.
“During my time as a trainee, I worked at a production facility and gained a basic understanding of the business, which gave me the best start. I have been given the opportunity to take the next step in my development and take on greater responsibility. This has been very important for me. I have shown that I want to and that I can be involved and contribute. That is Stena for me. You get the chance if you take it,” concludes Lovisa Eriksson.
